The third part of the Mahabharata, the ancient Indian epic originally composed in Sanskrit by Veda Vyasa, can be explored in Malayalam through the timeless Amar Chitra Katha series.
Escaping from the trap at Arakkillam, the Pandavas, by the command of Dhritarashtra, made Indraprastha their capital and ruled the kingdom. It is in this part that Arjuna abducts Subhadra, they assist Agni, the god of fire, in consuming the Khandava forest, the Pandavas perform the Rajasuya sacrifice, and finally, accepting Dhritarashtra’s invitation, they lose everything in the game of dice and set out into exile in the forest. This is what is narrated in the third part of the Mahabharata.
